Maureen Malovany originally from Connecticut now lives in Tenafly New Jersey. She has studied photography at Lehman College and at
International Center of Photography. She has also studied with Jill
Endfield, Eva Shaderowfsky, Theresa Airey, Chuck Henningson and
Tricia Rosenkilde. Her early work concentrates on black & white
silver gelatin photography eventually focusing on works in
alternative processes such as platinum/palladium and cyanotype as
well as color in image transfers. She enjoys the challenge of using
hand applied photographic emulsions & the quirkiness of pinhole
cameras. While she concentrates on landscape and architectural
images she sometimes shoots portraits as well. She now includes
more mixed media photography and collage in her work.
Maureen has taught mixed media/photographic courses and workshops at The Art School at Old Church in Demerest N.J. She also has led additional workshops at Soho Photo Gallery in New York City the Hunterdon Museum in Clinton N.J., The Rockland Center for the Arts.
She has exhibited widely throughout the US & in private collections.
